However, the <b data-path-to-node=\"7\" data-index-in-node=\"209\">Magen Avraham<\/b> (Siman 489, 1) wrote that they have accepted this upon themselves as an obligation. Nevertheless, all other authorities disagreed with his opinion, as elaborated by the author of the <b data-path-to-node=\"7\" data-index-in-node=\"406\">Minchat Chinuch<\/b> (Mitzvah 306). They also wrote that according to the <b data-path-to-node=\"7\" data-index-in-node=\"475\">Zohar<\/b> (Parshat Emor), they should not count. In the home of <b data-path-to-node=\"7\" data-index-in-node=\"535\">Rabbi Yaakov Yisrael Kanievsky<\/b> of blessed memory, the women did count the Omer.
