Volunteering with Special Needs Children

An Ish Tzadik Haya new volunteer undertaking: Working with children with special needs who suffer from a myriad of disorders characterized by difficulty in socializing and communications as well as extremely limited in their range of activities and interests.

Our volunteer initiative focuses on the special needs children housed in hostels. We primarily work with kids diagnosed with Autism, Social Autism, Asperger Syndrome, Down Syndrome, Tourette Syndrome and ADHD.

The volunteer activities range from entertainment, singing, and dancing with the children as well as offer them a variety of treats of the like found in public fairs, such as karaoke, flavored crushed ice,  cotton candy, popcorn making machines, and more …

It is very truly heartwarming and gratifying to witness the reactions of these children and their delight in these activities.
