B”H Dear friends and partners, On Friday, February 7, our amazing volunteers headed over to the ‘Beit Horim Beyachad’ senior living home in Bnei Brak with one beautiful mission: to bring smiles and warmth to the residents.

Before going, we learned that many residents there don’t have family in their lives or have transitioned from difficult circumstances on the street. Knowing this made our visit feel incredibly meaningful. The facility is home to independent elderly individuals, some of whom are dealing with physical frailty, and both the staff and residents were so excited to have us.

Our volunteers arrived with high spirits and great music, getting everyone involved by playing the darbuka and tambourines together.

To kick off the fun, everyone joined in a special arts-and-crafts workshop for the upcoming holiday of Tu B’Shvat. We also shared some inspiring thoughts on the Weekly Torah Portion and wrapped up the afternoon with a colorful, festive Kabbalat Shabbat filled with song and sweet treats for everyone.

It was a deeply moving afternoon that truly broke the routine, and we are so happy that it helped everyone welcome the Shabbat with a joyful heart. In fact, the residents loved it so much they asked us to come back much more often!

We believe that spending time with our elders—who often face lonely or challenging times—is one of the most important things we can do. That’s why we want to grow this project and bring even more volunteers on board.
