Separating Challah from Matzah Packages - Ish Tsadik
Question:
We bought several boxes of Matzah from the bakery, and they are marked "Challah has not been separated." Should we separate Challah from each package individually, or from one package for all of them?
Answer

If each package contains the required amount (Shiur) for Challah, it is sufficient to place the packages next to each other or stack them. One should then take one Matzah and separate Challah from it with a blessing for all the Matzot, saying: “This is hereby Challah for all the Matzot.” There is no need to open the plastic or paper wrappings of the Matzah. However, if each individual package does not contain the required amount—which is usually the case—one should place the packages together, take a Matzah out of a box, place it on top of all the packages, wrap everything from top to bottom in a sheet or something similar (to create a “vessel” or single unit), and recite the blessing “on the separation of Challah.”
