HOW WE HELP

The Ish Tzaddik Haya foundation works in full collaboration with the welfare authorities of all municipalities across Israel. As the Ish Tzaddik Haya organization does not have the means for vetting potential aid recipients, eligible families are required to present an authorization from their local welfare agency or from a social worker who visited the home and filed a report that details the family’s need.

Welfare agencies in many municipalities provide the foundation with lists of families that need assistance, to which they attach potential recipients’ signed confidentiality waivers. These reports are presented to the foundation’s committees who determine the level of assistance to be provided to each of the families.

WHAT DO PARENTS DO WHEN FOOD IS SHORT?

Reports have come to the Ish Tzaddik Haya nonprofit organization of situations where parents limit food portions, dilute baby formula or provide plain water as substitution for a meal. Some parents use a variation of pretexts to bring their babies to hospital emergency rooms in order to obtain nourishment for their babies.

Hungry babies are not only found in faraway Africa, but also here amongst us. Poverty strikes everywhere and may be the lot of a neighbor, a driver in a car passing by, a person who stands alongside at the supermarket’s checkout line or sits among others in a doctor’s waiting room.  Poverty may also befall a relative who is too embarrassed to disclose his situation.

What can we do?
Open our eyes, open our heart, and help as much as possible.

FIRST AID FOR FAMILIES

Many babies in Israel lack adequate nutrition due to their families’ lack of resources. These infants are fed diluted formula and food substitutes that do not meet their nutritional need, in quality and all too often in quantity as well.

The Ish Tzaddik Haya nonprofit organization was established in order to address this need and provide these babies with proper nourishment during the initial critical period of their physical and mental development. The foundation assists needy families by providing suitable nourishment for their babies that warranties the basic and essential sustenance for their fledgling new lives.

Ish Tzaddik Haya works in collaboration with social workers and municipalities across the country that refer needy families to the organization.
