RE: Assistance to needy families

As a follow up to the letter I sent to you three weeks ago, you advised that you didn’t ask for a recommendation letter from the rabbi. I wondered about it and I am attaching for you a letter on behalf of parents, whose daughter was born after four years of fertility treatments. Most of their funds were spent on doctors, medications and professors and with God’s help, they merited the birth of their daughter about one month ago.

But their financial situation is dire. The man barely works, is searching for a job. He works for a while. His wife was fired when her pregnancy became known, when she was three to four months pregnant. The wife has not worked since and the husband barely works so they have just enough to cover their mortgage but not enough to buy diapers, Materna, and more.

The wife is very sad and does not know what to do, as diapers and food for the baby are so costly. I don’t have to elaborate but the package of diapers will be finished within the week – and there is also no money for clothes.  The mother took a scarf of hers and swaddled the baby when she was born and has no other clothing for her. She uses old socks instead of pants to dress the child.

You must help the family – until this child was born with God’s mercy. At least help her grow with dignity and Hashem will pay you accordingly.
