Master Sergeant (Res.) Ofer Jung, HY”D – Warrior, Commander, Devoted Father, and Family Man.
On February 4, 2025 (6 Shevat, 5785), Ofer HY”D fell during operational activity at the Tayasir checkpoint in Northern Samaria. Ofer served as a squad leader in the 8211th Battalion, Ephraim Brigade, and went to reserve duty even though he was scheduled to be discharged shortly thereafter.
Ofer, who was 39 at the time of his passing, left behind his wife, Dana, and their two young children, Uri and Eitan. Beyond being a warrior and commander, Ofer was a green building engineer—an exceptionally brilliant family man who was always ready to help others. His friends describe him as a true altruist, someone who lived with modesty, wisdom, and a profound love for his fellow man—a rare figure who connected people wherever he went.
After much deliberation, his widow, Dana, turned to us with a request for assistance in securing their children’s future. In collaboration with the Charidy platform, we launched a crowdfunding campaign for Dana and the children.
The people of Israel did not stand idly by. Thanks to the overwhelming response, we succeeded in raising nearly 1 million NIS. We see this as a message of love, support, strength, and unity.
Dana arrived alone for the meeting to present the donations.
