B”H
13th of Sivan.
Liel Jarfi HY”D, son of Dudu and Nardit, was murdered in cold blood at the Nova music festival on the 7th of October. Murdered alongside him were two of his cousins, Shoham Yaakov HY”D and Shinhav Yaakov HY”D.
In the wake of this devastating loss, Liel’s parents resolved to commission a Torah scroll in the elevation of his soul.
Liel’s father, Dudu, reached out to us to request assistance in raising the remaining funds needed to complete the writing of the Torah scroll dedicated to his memory. In partnership with the JGive platform, we launched a crowdfunding campaign toward this goal — and together, we successfully raised approximately ₪62,000, the precise sum that was needed.
In a deeply emotional meeting, we presented Dudu with the funds we had gathered. During that gathering, Dudu shared with us every detail of the sequence of events as the family came to understand them — pieced together through extensive searching and investigation, from the desperate efforts to locate Liel and his two cousins, all the way to the identification of their bodies, nearly a week after the murder.
The writing of the final letters and the ceremonial installation of the Torah scroll in the ark are planned to take place next week. Rabbi Eideles asked Dudu to be the one to complete the Torah scroll by inscribing the final letters of the very last verse of the Torah:
“And by all the mighty power and all the great and awesome deeds that Moses performed in the sight of all Israel.”
Within this verse, the name of Liel HY”D is encoded.
Attached are several photographs from the gathering.
